Who are Tascomp?

• Tascomp supply control and monitoring systems for industrial applications, using our own software for the past 40 years.
• Our Prodigy SCADA package is used for applications such as controlling the heat treatment of aircraft parts, and controlling pharmaceutical processes.
• Our PlantRun software is used to look at the efficiency of manufacturing production lines.  It has a very diverse range of customers, from timber mills, to food manufacturers, to steel manufacturers, to even companies like Mulberry handbags
• Our PAMS systems are used to manage alarms in Air Traffic Control Towers.  We have systems in many of the UK commercial airports and also have a 22 year contract to supply them to the MOD for the RAF and Navy airfields in the UK
• We have a small but growing team of loyal employees.  All of our senior team have been with the company for more than 10 years and some have been with us for over 30.

How does Tascomp support apprentices throughout their apprenticeship?

We want our apprentices to succeed so assign a mentor to them, making sure they get the support they need through specific on-the-job training. We’re keen for our staff to succeed and progress within the company and provide extra support to help them get there.

Work aside, why else would I enjoy working at Tascomp?

Obviously covid has had an impact on this but, we usually do the following:

We hold lots of fun events such as our annual Christmas party which is fully paid for by Tascomp as a thank you to staff, we also like to involve the team in regular social events such as bowling which are always fun!

What can I do after my apprenticeship?

Anything you set your mind to! Our Lead PlantRun engineer came to us as an apprentice through Middlesbrough College 6 years ago and has worked on systems for food manufacturing, engine testing, office furniture manufacturing, etc.

He led a project to provide PAMS to the first remote digital tower for London City Airport where there are no air traffic controllers landing aircraft at London City. He is also now attending Teesside University on a Control and Instrumentation degree.
